Beauty has sought desperation in the night
Beast has stolen hearts and taken flight
As life has woven its pearl drop tears
That have been collected over the years
Passion has been filled with a heavy heart
Passion that has been intended, but didn’t last
And although promised, the tears have fallen
Caught and cornered those memories stolen
Beauty sought answers to questions unasked
Beast left the story much to the writer’s task
And there was no passion left between them
In case you were wondering that too, even though
Perhaps Beauty’s dreams didn’t actually come true
But there isn’t much a novelist can do, although
Maybe a new fairytale hero can be reborn.
Ashes to ashes, the tales been wrote
The hero and heroine are in the same boat
In every passage rewritten, there’s a kernel of truth
But not every writer is born in their youth,
So Beauty is no longer thinking about Beast
And Beast is no longer worried about sweets
And Beast is no longer thinking about the spell
And Beauty is no longer dreaming that all will be well.
What if we had no story and no story to tell?
What if there was no rose and no spell to weave?
What if Beast had left Beauty and had to leave?
What if these questions could not be received?
Would the theme of the story still be the same?
That love in its former glory can’t be renamed?
That love in its true form is meant to be bliss?
If love but not lust, could we resist?
If love was temptation would we realise?
Would we be able to tell between the truth and the lie?
Would the magical dream of love still come true?
If we hadn’t met either me or you?
Maybe fate does exist in more ways than one
May this new love be lasting for everyone
And in our world, perhaps romance does exist
If it starts out with one little kiss
And its this that I pass on with love from me to you
As an observer of truth and dreams that come true
I surround you in love eternal, words of the wise
So that you may see the difference between truth and the lies.
So that you may surround the deception in love itself
And that you may no longer be considered as ‘on the shelf’.
And its with this I leave you with a singular twist
So that you may proceed forward in happiness and bliss.
The warrior knows another chapter has done
But as with every ending, a new beginning has begun!
