Calm Down Candle Spell
Sometimes I find that a kind word or hug is not going to help me when I’ve lost my temper. Most of the times I do this spell I feel like I am the one who has been wronged, and I just want silence and light and warmth to surround me. I find that this spell calms my racing heart and I have even just sat there amidst all those candles and cried my soul out, but I always feel better afterwards. I hope that this will help someone else connect with the peace and comforting energy that fire has to offer.
Supplies:
4 Elemental candles
Air-Yellow
Earth-Green
Water-Blue
Fire-Red
Many white tea lights
1 Light Blue Candle for tranquility, peace, understanding
Lavender incense for happiness, relaxation, healing
1 Hematite stone for absorbing negativity
The Ritual:
Make sure the area that the spell is going to be done in is cleared of anything that will remind you of life outside of this space.
Begin in the north placing the Elemental candles in their places.
North- red candle
East- yellow candle
South- green candle
West- blue candle
Return to North and begin inviting the elements with their appropriate candles by lighting them.
While lighting the red candle,
“Spirits of fire enter this circle of light and bring me the warmth that I seek.”
While lighting the yellow candle,
“Spirits of air enter this circle and bring me the freedom that I seek.”
While lighting the green candle,
“Spirits of earth enter this circle and bring me the love that I seek.”
While lighting the blue candle,
“Spirits of water enter this circle and bring me the calm that I seek.”
Return to north and begin to fill in the space between the elements with the white tea lights while chanting,
“With the lighting of these flames this circle is cast, it is closed to negativity, myself encompassing. Nothing harm-doing may enter here, let only light and peace draw near.”
You may now sit comfortable in the middle of your circle with the light blue candle and hematite stone, and if the casting of the circle has not calmed you enough already, light the candle, which represents you, and just sit for a while thinking of nothing and gaze into the flame. Let all negative thoughts be absorbed into the stone, I usually visualize them as black ribbons being sucked into it. You may wish to drift into a separate world of your own, where you are positive nothing, neither sound nor alien energy, can reach you.
You may wish to think about the problem that led you here, I find that this, depending on what it was, tends to stress me out more and speed my heart rate. Other times it can help with coming to a terms or understanding of what happened. Whatever you feel you need to do, do it. This is a very personal time.
When you feel better and are calm, begin in the north and blow out the Elemental candles, thanking each for their contributions to the circle.
While blowing out the red candle,
“Spirits of fire, thank you for your aid, depart and I will remember you, this promise is made.”
While blowing out the yellow candle,
“Spirits of air, thank you for your aid, depart and I will remember you, this promise is made.”
While blowing out the green candle,
“Spirits of earth, thank you for your aid, depart and I will remember you, this promise is made.”
While blowing out the blue candle,
“Spirits of water, thank you for your aid, depart ad I will remember you, this promise is made.”
Next begin in the north blowing out the white tea lights while chanting,
“With the extinguishing of these flames this circle is opened, but unbroken. The peace and strength found within may linger unhindered.”
Now sitting with only your stone and light blue “you” candle, gaze at the candle for a few seconds, acknowledging its significance of peace, warmth, love, and acceptance. Leave it burning if you wish, symbolizing that you wish the peace and comfort to continue, or extinguish it and let the smoke linger in the room. Leave the stone in a box, since it is charged with negativity you may want to either keep it for further absorption o set it out in the moon light to cleanse it.
